Today is the last day of our housesit – already!
Linus (the dog) is very nervous, he is at my heels following me around from room to room. He knows something’s up!
The weather is absolutely gorgeous – 80 and sunny. Jim was supposed to be working remotely this week, but he’s in Chicago instead. I suppose that’s punishment enough. The bikes are loaded, the car is packed, time to move on…again. I got a major project accomplished while I was here: ALL of my pictures are scanned!! I’ve been working on it since we left Jim’s place – that’s how big a project it was. Lots of extra space in the car now!
Overall Jim and I are pleased with our first housesit. We were reminded why we’re both really cat people – dogs are a lot of work! Venice is a charming community and we enjoyed lots of sunsets over the Gulf.
Tomorrow I’m going to Punta Gorda to look at another condo; we’ve looked at several places and really want to get it finalized (and crossed off the list). It’s a fine balance between price, location, amenities, and location. : ) We don’t want it to be in too much of a residential area, we want it to feel a little vacationy (for all the people who will be visiting us, ahem), yet we don’t want to pay the exorbitant seasonal rates that some places are asking. When I’m finished there, I’m going back to the Tampa Bay area where we’ll be for the next month and where Jim will fly into on Thursday. We’ll be with friends there for Thanksgiving and working on a couple more projects on the rentals.
We’ll let you know when the winter reservation hotline is open. : )
