Life in Venice

Venice, FL, that is.DSC_9256

We haven’t posted much on our Roaming Together site lately. We’ve had lots of experiences, but staying in someone else’s home feels a little odd to report about publicly.   So here are some nuggets for those closest to us.

Venice is a really beautiful area.  It’s technically an island, and those who live on it are very proud of that!  We can walk to the Gulf of Mexico.  Linus loves car rides, so I’ve started taking him for the two minute car ride where we can walk along the Gulf for a morning or evening walk.

Here are some of our recent pictures…

Yes, that is my outdoor office.

Yes, that is how Linus spends the better portion of every day (sleeping).

Yes, that is a real Steinway piano, and yes I’m playing it!

Yes, that is Jim frolicking in the pool (so don’t feel too bad about him driving in snow tonight).

DSC_9073It strikes me frequently the abundance of trust this couple placed in us; not just that we live in their home, but that we care for their pet, their family member.

Jim and I joined a gym.  It has felt great to get back into that routine. I’m reminded of just how active senior citizens are in this part of the country; very different from the sequestered life of winter up north.

However, we do have a wind chill warning out for tomorrow (I’m not kidding), so unless I can find a sweater for Linus, we might have to make it a quick walk in the morning.  Jim will be returning from Detroit to a high of only 68 tomorrow.  But the sun will be shining in the Sunshine State.

  1. I am just catching up from our last excursion up north. That looks like a pretty fancy house you are taking care of. Nice pics, I especially like the one of the 2 chairs on the beach, in B & W. Nice effect.
